Find the Perfect Meet-Up Point with Mezzoman
US-centric: Google Maps mashup Mezzoman finds the perfect meet-up point for two addresses by establishing the midpoint and suggesting restaurants by cuisine nearby. Finding a good meet-up spot can be a bit difficult, and at one point or another you've probably felt you're getting the short end of the stick by driving the lion's share of the distance to the meet-up point. Mezzoman aims to rid you of that headache, and suggests places you could meet and eat (or bowl) near that midpoint. The only feature missing is pins marking the two addresses you're starting from, but in all it's a simple webapp that does just what it says.

It would be nice if it also took into account driving time as well. It appears to only consider distance from geographic midpoint.

[a.placebetween.us] does the same thing but with more options.

HAHAHA! a.placebetween.us can't tell the difference between a town called "Hot Coffee, MS" and a coffee shop.

Works "as the bird flies" not by roads - apparently my "ideal meeting place" is in the middle of lake Erie. Whoops.

What the flip? I'm going to have a agree with Bex, and say it would be nice to get more than a geographic midpoint. I got really pumped, and typed in Mequon, WI (my uncle's house) and Grand Rapids, MI (my house) and got a nice meeting point... right in the middle of Lake Michigan! Yipes, post again, when version 2.0 comes out ;-)

Wow, it works great. I looked for a meet-up between Paris, France and New York, New York that served seafood. Perfect. Thank you Mezzoman.

@bex: You'd likely have to get into a whole lot more data and processing to consider drive time, or so I would think... considering that it's be querying Google Maps' API from the outside, unable to make a request that could work with the raw data. For the geographical midpoint, it's just a matter of getting the coordinates of the two points and doing a simple calculation.

Seems to work OK as long as the two starting points don't have a b-a-a-d neighborhood between them.
