Add Actions to Spotlight

Mac OS X only: When Mac user Adam Wilco heard about Quicksilver's dark future, he set out to add the QS features he uses most to Spotlight. The result is Quicksilver's ExtraScripts ported for use with Spotlight. Once you download these babies and copy them to your Applications folder, you can Sleep, Restart, Empty the Trash, or Toggle Audio right from the Spotlight search box. Of course this doesn't make Spotlight do all the stuff Quicksilver does, but it's a step in that direction. The ExtraScripts Spotlight port is a free download for Mac only.

A first volley in a valiant cause, good job.
I mentioned here that dockables is the name of the package I found that does a similar thing...in a similar way. There is of course no disrespect intended towards Mr. Wilcox or Jon at the aforementioned link when I refer to these downloads as flattery, but just as they share their work with the community(bolder than I, who have produced nothing), I wanted to share another cool download for those who had not discovered it. Thanks.

After a surprising number of emails of support, I have now updated the package to include a 'Secure Empty Trash' command. As it happens this was not originally available in Quicksilver, so smell the sweet stench of innovation. I should hopefully get the 'Upload to Flickr' code complete at some point today as well.

If Quicksilver is open-source now, why is everyone concerned about its future? It's the most popular application launcher for the Mac; even if Alcor calls it a day, won't everybody and their brother hop onto the development bandwagon to keep it alive?

I think it's one less keystroke to bring up a script via Quicksilver. Am I right about that? [i.e. 'sleep' "apple+up+s+return" - spotlight "apple+space+type "sleep"+ go to script and click or hit return"]

Nifty.. If quicksilver is going down with the flag (and by god I hope not) it would be nice with a decent replacement.[Apple could pick this up themselves - would make a nice addition/interface to automator?!?!]
But.. Not to rain on anyones parade.. but isn't empty trash cmd-shift-backspace in OsX?
evoking finder ctl+space and typing [empty] that would be + 4 or 5 keystrokes.. :)

As a QS user, I stopped using dockables when I realized that you can drag and drop the restart, sleep, etc. icons from QS into the dock. They only seem to go next to the trash, not next to the apps, though, and I don't know if it works in Leopard, but it works in Tiger.
