Free Bundle of GTD Articles Written By David Allen
Posted by Kyle Pott at 4:00 AM on December 24, 2007
David Allen has a zipped archive of 17 articles available to download for free at the David Allen Company online store. Whether you're a die-hard GTDer or just use certain portions of the methodology (like Gina), the articles are a great supplement to the concepts presented in the book. The downside to all of the free content is that you must provide an email address and a billing address since the download is considered a "purchase" from the online store (even though it is a free download). You don't need to hand over any credit card information, though. Hit the jump for the list of articles included in the download.
The following are the titles of the articles included in the bundle:
- 5 Phases
- Stalking the Wild Projects
- Palm
- Are You Micro-Managing Your Mind?
- The Weekly Review
- The Coach as Personal Trainer
- The Threefold Nature of Work
- Make It Up and Make It Happen
- Organizing a Paper Organizer
- The Productivity Investments
- General Reference Filing
- The Tickler File
- Overtime... All the Time
- Managing Work on a Vacation
- Personal Inventory Control
- Workflow Diagram
- Workflow Advanced

Is it just me, or do these articles sound like condensed overviews of his GTD book?

The register/purchase process just doesn't jive with my GTD.

Nothing really new in these articles for people who have read the book, but they were fun to read because the hit the main GTD points and are short and concise.

Hmm. Mr. Allen needs to read, "Getting Things Downloaded: The Art of Hassle Free Distribution." :-)

I think this kind of file was already published long long time ago (at least 6 months) on Allen's website, also free of charge.

I decided not to register even though it's free. I'm just feeling ornery about it. Free should be free of freely adding me to a sales database.
But then, I've always been amazed at those (probably excluding David Allen) who want to share the secrets of life for XK number of dollars.
David Allen is not offering the secret of life but apparrently just ways to make life better. That's admirable and useful. I'll check out one of his books. And maybe even register when I'm not feeling so ornery.

I am fairly registration-averse (although I'm registered here, aren't I?) and all privacy policy protestations to the contrary, I really don't want to end up on any more mailing lists -- even ones that may well be good for me.
SO in the spirit of the holidays, would anyone like to repost the GTD articles again at yousendit?
