Tiny Business Card Calendar
Posted by Kyle Pott at 1:00 AM on December 17, 2007
Weighting in at the size of a business card, the tiny Thumb Calendar makes it possible to keep a calendar on you at all times. The Thumb Calendar is two sided and in order to use it, you must cover the dates that are not directly below the month header with your thumbs. The designer only has a PDF version for 2007 on his homepage, but you can grab a 2008 version from Flickr (linked below). The Thumb Calendar is a free download and makes a great addition to any purse or wallet.

True, but then you'd have a box going through those other months when it came time to read them.

I think having color coded boxes around each month would make it a lot easier to read (and not block out all the other months with your thumbs

Very very cool. I, rather than just printing and folding, double-side printed so that each sheet can create 8 mini calendars.
Here's a similar article regarding Adam Sporka's ingenuity:

pretty rough and ugly, but probably a better explanation of what I was thinking about:

I don't see the advantage of the clever graphical gymnastics involved. My local hardware store puts out a freebie business-card sized calendar, in plain-old one-year calendar format, using *one* side of the card, with plenty of room for their name/address/phone. It includes a 3" ruler and a decimal equivalents chart on the back (e.g. "23/64 = .359375"). It's even on glossy cardboard :-)

interesting idea. I hung it up at my desk with a slider I cut out so i don't have to use my thumbs. I wouldn't mind a version with Sunday first.
Heres a pic of the slider: [farm3.static.flickr.com]

Regarding Rewaldo's comment on getting the whole lot on one side of a card in a standard year-to-view format: I wonder what size the text is on that.
While I could no doubt cope with the text size that must be involved, I'm sure many can't and I'd rather not.
Each to their own, of course!

The first time I saw this calendar I thought it was a great idea, but I didn't really like the Ubuntu-esque color scheme. So, I made my own! I made it with OpenOffice draw and also have a pdf for printing it (the jpg isn't as smooth). Hope you all like it.
