Add Thumbnails to All Images in Explorer with Xentient Thumbnails

Windows only: Freeware application Xentient Thumbnails replaces all image icons on your desktop or in Windows Explorer with a thumbnail preview of the image. Of course Windows Explorer has the Thumbnail view and Filmstrip views dedicated to image thumbnails, but after you install Xentient Thumbnails and restart your computer, all image icons in every Explorer view will be replaced with actual image thumbnails. Xentient Thumbnails is freeware, Windows only.

How much RAM does this thing eat? I'd love the feature, but like Cidinho, I don't really want to sacrifice performance.

@joelena: True, Folderico seems to be way better than iColorFolder. I've been wanting an app I saw (iColorFolder) for some time, now I found it + a better one. Thank you.

As I read the review on FreewareGenius yesterday, I knew Lifehacker would pick this one up. You pick up Samer's reviews so often, y'all should give him a commission!!!
@metalhaze: & @Barron: While iColorFolder open source (but I haven't tried it), Folderico seems more powerful - custom icons on a portable drive will even show up on other computers.

You guys should really point out that this will also work on the desktop. I've used this application a while ago, just to be able to see thumbnails on the desktop.

Love that the image files are screenshots of gOS, a Linux distribution, for an Explorer hack. Let's hope the subliminal messaging works!

@metalhaze & MorphiusSys: It is called iColorFolder. Works great.

@Cidinho: I agree with you, I personally have rarely had any proper use for thumbnails on my PC.
@metalhaze: Off hand I do not remember where, but there is a freeware program for PC to make your folders other colors.

I guess that someone would be me!
Downloaded it and loving it!
The more I can make my PC like a Mac the better!
I just wish you didn't have to pay money to use their file color labels....I love the color labels that are built into the Mac OS....makes it so easy to find things when scanning through lots of files and folders.

I'm not ready to sacrifice my performance for this -- actually, I almost disabled Windows auto thumbing.
Anyway, that's because I have no memory to spread - 512mb. Might be useful for someone else with better memory.

Wow I have 2 gigs of ram and still my system takes a HUGE hit when trying to open a folder full of pictures when Xentient is active. Even de-activating it in Control Panel doesn't work. I'd stick with the default Windows views.

Hey Launchy fans!
This app. allows you to see thumbs of images in your Launchy bar as you type.
Yes!
I have wanted to do this for a long time.
So stoked!
