Android: Skype has been available on Android for a while, but only for voice calling—despite many phones having front-facing cameras. Today, it has been updated to support video chat on over 21 different Android phones.
Skype just released an iPad version of its mobile app today, bringing a new interface optimised for large screens, as well as everything you’ve come to expect from Skype: two-way video calling, instant messaging and SMS texting.
Lifehacker has been playing around with Google+ all morning, and so far the coolest innovation we’ve seen — particularly from a productivity standpoint — is the Hangout feature, which creates rooms for you to hang out with your friends, coworkers, or any of your social circles. It’s great.
iOS/Android/Symbian: Fring, one of our favourite mobile apps for VoIP calls, just released a new iPad app that supports four-way video calling between the iPad and non-iOS users. They also updated their iPhone, Android and Symbian versions to match.
