Optimise Your Browser Homepage With 43Marks

11:49AM October 23, 2008 | Lifehacker US Edition

43Marks is yet another customisable start page ala iGoogle or Netvibes which includes a prominent search box for Google or Yahoo, category buckets for favourite bookmarks, and boxes to display a handful of RSS feeds. What it doesn’t have is the variety of features and widgets iGoogle or My Yahoo offers, but it’s just as free with registration—and you don’t have to sign in to see your page once it’s set up. Of course, that means if someone knows your username, they can check out your homepage, too—so much for adding a “Porn” category. Thanks, SristiCaban!

StumbleUpon 3.23 Integrates ‘Likes’ With Firefox 3 Bookmarks

10:00PM June 30, 2008 | Kevin Purdy

Windows/Mac/Linux (Firefox): Site-finding service StumbleUpon has taken full advantage of Firefox 3′s “Awesome Bar” by integrating its browser toolbar/extension with Firefox favourites. A new option in the latest version of the previously highlighted StumbleUpon add-on lets you download all the sites you’ve rated with a thumbs up/”I like it!” into your bookmarks, giving you as-you-type access to that last cool link you saw but can’t quite remember. Your recent favourites and their tags are also stored in the browser’s “Recent Bookmarks” and “Recent Tags” Smart Folders, helping your organize your idle-time browsing. StumbleUpon 3.23 is a free download, works wherever Firefox 3 does. StumbleUpon 3.23 [via jeetBlog]
