How To Get Started On Tinder

It’s been a while since you were last single, and now the dating landscape is completely different. Which way do you swipe? How much info do you put on a profile? There are catfishes and trolls and ghosts and it all sounds scary and too overwhelming to deal with.

On the flip side, everyone you know is on the apps at this point, and any stigma there once was around online dating has long since disappeared. The video above is full of useful information to take the stress and guesswork out of the process, but here are some of our favourites:

  • Limit your time to swiping in the morning, when your mind is clearest.

  • Post several photos, included candids of yourself with other people (and bonus points for photos with your mother).

  • Pick one outfit as your designated first date outfit, so you don’t need to worry about what you’re wearing for every date you go on. (This tip also plays into my patented system for having the same first date routine every time, but that is a more advanced step.)

Check out the video below for more tips, and remember that there are plenty of fish in the sea.
