How To Keep Your Egg From Rolling Away

Eggs love to do two things: roll around and break. This is inconvenient at best and messy at worst, but all the tumbling and shell-shattering can be avoided with the help of an old plastic drink cap.

A plastic cap, such as the one you would find on a bottle of Gatorade or fruit juice, is the perfect size for holding an unruly egg.

I keep mine right next to my stove, so my egg can sit in waiting while I melt butter, fry bacon, make a bowl of ramen, or prep and cook whatever other dish the egg is destined for.

This keeps me from having to leave a whole carton of eggs out (which I usually don’t have room for in my tiny kitchen), or rush to the fridge to remove an egg just before it’s needed.

Also, it’s a great use for a piece of plastic you would otherwise toss in the recycling.
