This Sci-Fi Writer Predicted The Internet And Invented The Waterbed

Video: In our newest video series, Lifehackers of History, we examine the amazing accomplishments of notable people of the past. First up is science fiction writer Robert A. Heinlein.

Trained as an engineer in the Navy, Heinlein used his technical knowledge to make predictions in his writing, and many of these predictions ended up coming true, such as interstate highways and the internet.

He also came up with the idea for the modern waterbed, gave us guidelines for writing, and built a custom technological dream home. Check out his life’s work in the video above.
