Dealhacker: Send Money To India For Free To Celebrate Diwali

Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, begins tomorrow and lasts for five days. For the rest of October, you can send money to friends and family in India via OrbitRemit, free of charge.

OrbitRemit was established in 2008 and is a fully licensed online service that allows you to send money internationally. Usually, the fees to send money elsewhere can range from anywhere between $0 to $10 but to celebrate Diwali, OrbitRemit is offering free money transfers to India.

This offer is only applicable to Australians sending money to India. To redeem this offer, all you have to do is go to the OrbitRemit website and start the process. Bonus: There is no minimum transfer amount.

Note that OrbitRemit only accept money via bank transfer so you will have to wait for your bank to clear that money before OrbitRemit’s transfer starts, slowing the process down a little. Generally, once it has been approved by the bank, the transfer will only take a day or so.

The offer is running until October 31.

Happy Diwali!
