Video: If you grew up watching Double Dare, or any Nickelodeon shows at all, you probably remember the green slime. People have tried to make their own versions for years, but now the true recipe has finally been revealed.
As host extraordinaire Marc Summers explains in this video from Tech Insider, Nickelodeon Slime gets identified with Double Dare and What Would You Do?, but it actually originated on a show called You Can’t Do That On Television. Kids seemed to love it, so Nickelodeon just ran with it. Celebrities still get slimed to this day at the Kids’ Choice Awards.
If you’re anything like me and have a lifelong dream to get drenched in the heavenly goo, today is your lucky day. Summers goes on to disclose the famous concoction’s secret recipe. Ready? It’s part vanilla pudding, part applesauce, a dash of green food colouring, and a little oatmeal. That’s it. Mix all that up into a bucket and dump it on your friends and family! Or rig up a camera and dump it on yourself so you can finally live out your childhood fantasy.
