Pornhub has released its annual Year In Review report, detailing all the ways we consumed online porn in 2016. This insanely comprehensive infographic breaks down everything you could possibly want to know – from the most popular search terms by gender, age and country to the top ten male and female porn stars. (There’s even a graph charting the disturbing rise in Donald Trump-themed porn queries. Ew.)
The following graphics all come from the Pornhub Insights blog, which provides regular insights into how people around the world are consuming digital rumpy. This culminates in an annual Year In Review post which distills twelve months of data into digestible graphs and rankings for almost every conceivable topic.
There’s a lot to take in here. Interesting trends include a sharp rise in mobile phone use (must be those large phablet screens), midnight being the most popular time for watching porn (when the spouse is in bed, natch) and Kim Kardashian continuing to be the most-searched for celebrity sex tape on the planet (hint: you also need to type ‘Ray J’).
On the Australian side of things, “virtual reality” and “360 VR” were the top two gaining searches for 2016. They increased by 523 per cent and 440 per cent, respectively. Personally, I can’t imagine strapping a silly electronic doodad on my face specifically to watch porn – but it seems a lot of Aussies have less dignity.
Curiously, the video game Overwatch was also a big hit with Aussie porn viewers, ranking an impressive seventh place in our top searched terms. (I wonder how much of that had to do with this article published by our sister site Kotaku?) Other popular search terms Down Under included ‘lesbian’, ‘milf’, ‘asian’, ‘massage’, ‘cartoon’, ‘step mom’ and ‘threesome’.
Compared to the rest of the world, Aussies are the eighth most prolific porn users (God-fearing USA was first) and our ‘sessions’ last nine minutes and 44 seconds on average, which was the fifth longest time in the world. To paraphrase Darlene from ’80s sitcom Rosanne this either means we’re really good at masturbation or really bad at it. (In related news, Australians reportedly search for “jerk-off instructions” more than the rest of the world. No really.)
Without further ado, here are the rest of the highlights from the report:

LOL, what?
not my cup of tea, but it’s basically a woman sitting on a bed, talking directly to camera and telling the viewer what to do and teasing him/her by describing what she wants to do next and what she wants the viewer to do next. The ‘kink’ is kinda related to a bit of humiliation and instruction.
….. or at least, that’s what a friend told me.
Australians average visit = 9 minutes 44 seconds, so what do they do during the next 23 hrs 50 mins 16 secs time left in the day/night.
Cuba is going to sh!t wasting their
Dialup speeds on porn thanks to Obama allowing Verizon to REwire their 1950s telcom.
