Next Step For Trello Adds Customisable Checklists To Your Trello Cards

Chrome: Trello is an incredibly powerful productivity tool, and Next Step for Trello makes it a little better. The add-on lets you add checklists and check boxes to Trello cards, check them off directly in a card and arrange them so you see just the next step or all steps.

Next Step for Chrome is fairly simple — it just adds a feature that arguably you’ve either been missing in Trello, or one you specifically use Trello to get away from: Checklists. Once installed, you can add step-by-step subtasks for any Trello card in the form of a checklist, and then mark them off as complete with a running tally of how many you’ve completed and how many you have left to go at the bottom of the card.

You can also change the view to see all of the steps you have coming up, all the steps in their entirety or just the next one you have to accomplish — the latter of which keeps your Trello board looking neat and trim. Once everything in a checklist is completed, you can just archive the card and be done with the task. Ideally, you’d use this to set a card for a larger task, and then use the checklist as a way to break that task down into smaller, bite size chunks, which is a good tip to avoid distractions and stop procrastinating as well as turning vague goals into actionable to-dos.
