Mac: When it comes to video players on Mac, VLC has long been the best choice. That doesn’t mean there can’t be competition though. IINA is a video player still in early development that is looking to give VLC a run for its money.
IINA takes the basic idea of VLC, an open source video player that can handle a variety of file formats, and wraps it in a modern Mac app interface. IINA adds in customisable mouse and keyboard shortcuts, supports the Touch Bar out of the box and has a wide variety of video and audio settings. It still has a ways to go before it’s a real competitor to VLC, but if you want to check it out, you can do so for free right now.
