Cleaning up after painting isn’t always as easy as just soaking your paint brushes and calling it a day. Over at Tested, they run through a variety of ways to clean up with different cleaners after using different paints.
Depending on the type of paint you use, the clean up process is totally different. Here’s what Tested recommends:
- Water and soap: Should work for pretty much any water-soluble paint
- Parian Spirit: Good for makeup brushes, glue, body paint
- Naptha-based solvent: Good for removing rubber cement paint
- En-solve: Cleans out anything else as a last resort
Other than picking the right solvent, it’s also good to make sure you’re not soaking your brushes too long because it can ruin the glue holding the bristles together. So, after you clean up, make sure you leave the brushes out on a table instead of inside the cup you cleaned it in.
