The Angular Blue Workspace

The Angular Blue Workspace

Redditor Tech__ just set up a new workspace, and it’s gorgeous, blue, and behind the scenes connected through Google fibre. We’re pretty sure they also work at Google. Let’s look at some more photos.

The blue ambient lighting is sharp enough, no doubt, but the dual-display is pretty nice as well, along with the matching LED light strip on the underside of the PC to the right. Don’t miss the well-placed Rainmeter widget in the corner there, and the Blue Snowball microphone set up there for calls and podcasting as well. I’m seeing more and more people use that sound-dampening foam on their walls around their PCs, and I dig it. Looks like it works well. Let’s look at the desk surface specifically though:

Aside from the fact that the original post is called “A Googler’s Battlestation,” you see where we get the impression Tech__ works at Google, right? That massive Steelseries pad isn’t bad either. Here’s the setup:

i5-4690K @ 4.4GHzHyper EVO 212 Cooler
EVGA GeForce GTX 980
16 GB RAM 1600MHz
Intel 730 240 GB SSD
1+2 TB HDD Storage
NZXT S340 White Case

Razor Deathadder
Logitech G502
Blue Snowball
Steelseries Siberia V2

And one more shot of the whole setup, complete with the L-shaped desk and a feline companion:

The desk is an IKEA mod, which Tech__ notes is two of these connected together with the legs moved around (using the wider desk tops.) For more on the specifics, make sure to check out the Reddit thread below, and the Imgur gallery below too for more — including some speed tests of that glorious Google Fibre, and a GIF of three 4K videos streaming at the same time with no slowdown.
