Make Giant Ice Cubes For Party Drinks With Popsicle Molds

If you plan on mixing up a big bowl of punch or a communal cocktail for a party, this trick will keep your concoction cool without diluting its flavour.

When ice cools your beverage it also melts and dilutes the mixture. The smaller the chunks of ice, the faster they melt and dilute. So for something like a bowl of punch that you’ll have sitting out all night, you want the ice to melt and dilute as little as possible. Otherwise you lose all the flavour. That’s why Lisa Freedman at The Kitchn recommends you use larger pieces of ice. And you can easily make them with those cheap popsicle molds if you forego the handles. Just freeze up a batch with plain water — or maybe some infused water for extra flavour — and add them to your bowl, pitcher, or other type of drink dispenser.
