Use A Raspberry Pi Zero To Power A Pixel Art Frame

A low resolution digital frame might not sound like something anyone would want, but DIYer Frederick Vandenbosch proves otherwise with his elegant little pixel art frame.

Using a Raspberry Pi Zero and a RGB Matrix HAT, Vandenbosch set up a frame that can display whatever he wants on the LEDs, like a static image or even live-updating information, such as the weather or any social media notifications you might have. Sure, the LED Matrix is built with circles instead of squares so it’s not exactly perfect for pixels, but it looks great nonetheless. Head over to Vandenbosch’s site for the full guide.
