The Two Ways To Get ‘Raise To Wake’ On An iPhone To Actually Work Consistently

iOS: iOS 10’s “Raise to Wake” feature is great, but it’s a little finicky. How-To Geek flipped an iPhone around for a while to figure out the best way to make it actually work consistently and found two different methods.

Since Raise to Wake uses the motion sensor, so it’s really just about figuring out which motion triggers it. Here are the two ways that worked most often:

  • flip your iPhone from face down to face up, or
  • lift your iPhone so it’s vertical in portrait mode, perpendicular to the ground.

Once you get in the habit of using your phone like this, Raise to Wake should be as useful as it’s supposed to be.
