Pixelmator Adds Tabs, A New Smart Refine Feature And Support For The MacBook Pro Touch Bar

Mac: Pixelmator gets a handful of new features today, most notably finally adding in support for tabs. That comes alongside support for the new Touch Bar on MacBook Pros and a pretty nifty new smart refine selection tool.

The best new feature here is tabs, which makes it a heck of a lot easier to work on multiple documents at once. They work just as you’d expect, and you can drag and move them around just as you can with any other app. The Touch Bar support is something promised in Apple’s keynote last month, and gives you a customisable tool bar on the Touch Bar. You’ll also get a new “Smart Refine” feature that allows you to haphazardly use the lasso tool to select an area, then Pixelmator will use edge detection to pick an object. It’s extremely useful and makes it a heck of a lot easier to select complicated objects. You’ll also get a few other improvements, including full compatibility with Sierra, and support for P2 colour and wide colour displays. The updates available now from the Mac App Store.
