November’s Money Challenge: Sell Your Unwanted Stuff

November’s Money Challenge: Sell Your Unwanted Stuff

We have just two months to go in our Ultimate Money Challenge. As we near the year’s end, we’re focused on holiday spending. This month, we challenge you to clean out your closets, get rid of some junk and make some cash in the process.

The purpose of November’s challenge is twofold: first, you’ll get a head start on spring cleaning and make room for all the new stuff you’re presumably going to get over the holidays. Second, and more relevant to the challenge, you’ll earn some extra cash to pay for your own holiday expenses.

So gather your junk — old tech, clothes you don’t wear, unopened gifts from last year — donate what you can’t sell, then list everything else on eBay, Gumtree or have a garage sale. You can look at eBay’s completed listings to get an idea of what your item will go for, then use our checklist for selling stuff online. Here’s a complete guide to selling your unwanted crap for money.

Are you in? If so, let us know in the comments and tell us what you plan to sell.
