Microsoft’s Visual Studio Launches On Mac

Mac: Alongside the announcement of the upcoming Visual Studio 2017 today, Microsoft announced that Visual Studio will be available for the Mac for the first time.

Visual Studio is Microsoft’s integrated development environment, and for Mac users the most obvious comparison is Apple’s Xcode. Visual Studio for Mac is a place to make apps for the web, iOS, Android and wearables using the C# programming language. For the most part, the Mac version of Visual Studio seems to have the bulk of features from its Windows counterpart, though it’s still in preview, so some of that will likely change as it plods along to the full release. For now, Mac developers can finally easily get a glimpse of the other side.
