Instagram Adds Live Video And Disappearing Messages

Instagram announced two big new features for its apps today: Live video and disappearing messages.

To start a live broadcast, just swipe right from your feed and tap the Start Live Video button. As for watching live video, if someone you follow is live, you’ll see a little “live” button in the stories bar. Live video will start rolling out over the next few weeks.

If you’d rather send a message that deletes itself after a set amount of time, you’ll be able to do that now too. When you swipe right to open your camera and snap a photo or video, you’ll get an option to send a disappearing message, just like Snapchat. You can view this feed of disappearing messages from your inbox. The disappearing photos and video should be rolling out over the course of today.
