Having a simple, fancy-looking dessert you can whip up at a moment’s notice makes life a lot easier, and this (basically) two-ingredient tart from Bon Appetit is a great thing to have in your arsenal.

I say “basically” two ingredients because four of them are flavourings you probably already have in your cupboard, namely honey, sugar, salt, and pepper. As far as a grocery list is concerned, you’ll just need to pick up some plums (or any other stone fruit) and frozen puff pastry. Cut the pastry into squares, prick it with a fork, and top with plum wedges, fanning them out so people think you’re much more refined than you are. Sprinkle on some sugar, grind some pepper on there, and pop it in the oven for about half an hour at 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Remove your golden-brown squares of deliciousness from the oven, drizzle with honey, and top with a good, flaky salt.
