How You Will Die: it’s a simulator.
Plug in your race, age and sex. Then find out — according to the data — the statistical reasons for your potential death throughout your life.
Me? I’m white (as hell), male and 35 years old. And I’m pretty much gonna die of circulatory issues no matter what. Which is pretty terrible because I always imagined myself dying at 75 years old, climbing some badass mountain in a BLAZE OF GLORY.
The weird thing: I switched to a woman. If I was a woman, I’d be more likely to die from some sort of cancer. Interesting.
It’s all based on information taken from the Underlying Cause of Death database from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the US. This is how actual people die and these results are calculated based on that information.
The terrifying thing: every single dot on this image represents a possible death for me at every possible age I might reach.
Cool, I’m gonna die a lot of circulatory deaths according to this thing. Great news. Find out the nature of your own mortal-coil shuffle here.

This has been added to the article. Cheers!
This doesn’t look much like the ABS data. Top 5 from 2015 are
1. Ischaemic heart diseases (I20-I25) 19,777
2. Dementia, including Alzheimer disease (F01, F03, G30) 12,625
3. Cerebrovascular diseases (I60-I69) 10,869
4. Trachea, bronchus and lung cancer (C33-C34) 8,466
5. Chronic lower respiratory diseases (J40-J47) 7,991

Colon cancer is 7th. I thought it would be higher on the list. Lung cancer is most probably so high because of smoking. That will be an interesting trend to review in 50 years time.
It’s also fascinating to compare disease by gender. The biggest for men (by far) is heart disease and for women it’s a toss up between Ischaemic heart disease and Dementia.
Suicide also rates as a significant problem for young people. I mentioned about that recently with some highly inappropriate government propaganda targeting young kids. Mind you, the media have played an even bigger role in some pretty nasty propaganda of their own.
White / Asian / Black / Native (american one assumes)
In other words you ain’t gunna find anything relevant to Koories on that site. American blacks only come in one type.
For black males, it’s not until you get to about 60 years old that illness overtakes “external causes”. Given that it’s based on US data, maybe this represents the higher likelihood of being shot. 😐
