Noon Pacific Gets A Fresh Look And Unlimited Skips, Still Delivers Free Weekly Playlists To Your Phone

Android: Noon Pacific is one of our favourite music services. Every week you get fresh, new music in a curated playlist delivered right to your phone or mailbox. Its Android app just got a huge update too, one that’s worth a look.

Previously, Noon Pacific’s Android app was great, but came with caveats. You couldn’t skip tracks, couldn’t easily share specific tracks, had to play each playlist from the beginning and it cost a couple of bucks, too. All of that is gone now — you can play any specific track, skip as many as you like, jump right to the track or playlist you want to hear and, best of all, the app is free now.

Of course, you still get all of the benefits of the app too. The gorgeous look and beautiful photos Noon Pacific chooses for its playlists, and the ability to swipe open the left sidebar and go back over all of the service’s old playlists are all there. The app even handles losing internet connection well, and caches the song you were playing so the music continues even when your connection drops. If you’re still offline, it will wait until service comes back and pick up where it left off in the playlist.

I’ve been test driving the new app while the team at Noon Pacific have been working on it, and it’s a big improvement over the previous version. Combined with the fact that it’s free now, and there’s no reason to not check it out.
