Mini Pie Cupcakes Are The More Manageable Cousin Of The Piecaken

I’m sure you’ve seen the glorious dessert known as the “piecaken,” in which whole pies are baked inside cakes and stacked on top of each other. They’re stunners for sure, but they’re kind of annoying to make. Luckily, Krys Melo of Melodrama has miniaturized the whole process with mini pie cupcakes.

To make these adorable little gems of tastiness, you will need mini pies and a cupcake recipe (Melo has a great one in the link below). Pour your batter into a muffin tin lined with cupcake liners and push a (thawed) mini pie down in there. Top with more batter, and bang the whole tin on the counter a few times to make sure there are no gaps. Bake at 160C for about half an hour, let cool, frost, and enjoy the most adorable lil’ Frankenfood your eyes ever did see.
