There are countless ways to use a Raspberry Pi as a retro game console, but if you’re connecting that Pi to a HDTV, you’re losing a bit of the magic. Over on Hackaday, DIYer Jon crams a Raspberry Pi into an old tube TV to help capture that old-school look.
Just as you’d expect, this project takes an old TV, jams a Raspberry Pi inside, wires out the necessary cables, and then displays it all on that glorious old screen. Of course, there are plenty of ways to emulate the look of a CRT, but it never really captures that awkward flicking glow of old TVs.
