The Cheapest Way To Protect Your Camera From The Rain

The Cheapest Way To Protect Your Camera From The Rain

You’ve probably guessed that a plastic bag can protect your DSLR camera in the rain or snow. But there’s a proper way to use it, as photographer Benjamin Jaworskyj shows in the video above.

All you need is a plastic bag, a rubber band and your lens hood. Make sure you’re using a big enough bag that can completely cover the lens and the camera.

First, attach the lens hood. Then drape the bag from the lens down over the camera. Put the rubber band on the lens hood to hold the bag firmly in place. Rip open a hole at the lens, and move the bag back.

It’s super easy, as you can see in the video above. Jaworskyj also shows you how to add a hole for your viewfinder. But otherwise, you can pop your head into the bag too to see the monitor. Whatever you do, always carry a plastic bag with you to safely travel with your DSLR camera.
