Make The Most Of Your Kitchen Window With This Hanging DIY Herb Garden

Having an herb garden in your kitchen means they’re easy to grab whenever you want to add them to a dish or drink. If you don’t have much counter space, this hanging set up takes advantage of your window to give you a full herb garden.

You need a one inch wide pipe, closet bar mounts, buckets or other pots with handles, and your herb plants. Get a pipe that is as wide as your window (minus ⅛ to ¼ of an inch to account for the mounts). If you need the pipe cut, you can have your local hardware or home supply store cut it when you buy it.

Attach the bar mounts to the sides of your window, leaving enough room in between for the buckets to hang. Plant your herbs in the buckets or pots and gently hang them on the pipe, then set in the bar mounts. If you don’t want to poke holes in the wall for the mounts, you can also use a tension curtain or shower rod (like this one from Amazon), but be careful not to overload it with too much weight.
