VLC For Android Gets Picture-In-Picture Support And Video Playlists

Android: The Android version of VLC received a big update today, adding in a bunch of new features, including a picture-in-picture mode for tablets and playlists for videos.

The first thing you’ll notice is the revamped permissions profile. VLC no longer needs access to as much of your Android and can now work by only accessing media files. Beyond that, you’ll also get a new network browsing mode to find local servers, built-in subtitles downloads, video playlists, pop-up video support for picture-in-picture viewing and a new history view. You can find more info about the updates over at their blog.
