Lagom Is An Informative, Minimalist Browser Start Page

Web/Chrome: There’s no shortage of start and new tab pages that will dress up each new tab with useful information, a ton of widgets or even gorgeous time lapses, but if you want something a little more minimal but still informative, Lagom has you covered.

Available as both a plain web page that you can add to any browser and a Chrome add-on you can customise, Lagom.io focuses on the basics, without adding too much bloat. You get the local weather (which is why it needs access to your location), the current time and date and built-in search so that as soon as you open a new tab, you can start typing to search with Google. The new tab page designs are super minimal, and there’s a new one every day. You can’t change them on the fly, but that’s part of the beauty of the service — one design, one day, and something new every day.

According to the team that made it, Lagom actually means “moderation” in Swedish, so we can feel that “not too much, not too little” philosophy at play when we use it. If you like the idea, hit the link below to try it out, and you can check out some of the available new tab designs over here.
