Flo Music Lets You Create Collaborative Playlists With Spotify And SoundCloud

iOS: Flo Music on iOS lets you sync up nearby phones so that you can craft the perfect party playlist in real time using songs from your Spotify, SoundCloud or iTunes music library.

Flo Music was announced last year, but the app finally launched this week, giving you and nine of your friends the power to collaborate on a master playlist wherever you are. Flo Music even works if you don’t have access to Wi-Fi. The app creates it’s own internal hotspot so you can make playlists on the beach, at the cabin or in the middle of nowhere on your road trip. All you have to do is connect your Spotify Premium or SoundCloud streaming account and decide who the host is going to be. Then everyone can join in and share their streaming music or iTunes songs they have stored on their device. If you have a dedicated speaker, the host can run the playlist in “dock mode” and everyone’s music selections will play through that device like a jukebox. If you use “sync mode”, however, the music plays out of everyone’s device (up to 10). It’s a nice option if you need some extra volume, or want to make sure everyone can hear the music in different parts of the house. The app is only available on iOS for now, but there is an Android version in the works. You can download Flo Music for free from the iOS App Store at the link below.
