In a bid to attract and retain customers, Vaya has introduced a ‘Price Beat Guarantee’ to all of its mobile phone plans. From today, if a customer sees a comparable 4G plan for less money, Vaya will immediately match it. In addition, it will also provide the next month for free. Here are the details.
The Amaysim-owned telco Vaya is appealing to customers who want to pay the cheapest possible price for their mobile phone plans. The Price Beat Guarantee provides this peace of mind with the company promising to match the lower price of any non-promotional plan from a rival telco.
Naturally, the plan has to have the same voice, text and data inclusions to qualify, but otherwise there are no questions asked.
In addition to matching the lower price, Vaya will also give the next month free. According to Vaya’s marketing manager Jennifer Snell, these types of guarantees are common practice in other industries but Australian telcos have been reluctant to get on board.
“This Price Beat Guarantee gives our customers additional assurance that if another telco comes out with an even cheaper plan with the same inclusions down the line, all they have to do is give us a call and we’ll beat it,” Snell explained.
Crucially, the guarantee is being offered in perpetualty — not just when you sign up. This basically assures that you always pay the lowest price in the market (plus a free month whenever they have to match another telco).
Like its parent company Amaysim, Vaya runs off Optus’ 4G Plus network. In other words, the service is pretty fast and reliable in most areas of Australia despite the budget prices.
As you can see in the table below, Vaya currently offers the best price for entry-level and mid-price plans. This is sure to change eventually, however. If you’re a Vaya customer, our advice is to keep a close eye on deals sights like Ozbargain. The telco industry is highly mercurial: sooner or later, you’re sure to score a free month of service.

It’s not as attractive as it sounds. The competing plan has to have THE SAME features and inclusions, which means if you find something that is cheaper but offers more data for instance (and everything else is the same), then it won’t qualify.
In fact, it’s a little bit scammy… you’d practically never be able to claim on this because you can rely on some aspect of the plan to be different, kinda like how places like Bunnings have “own store” variations of products so that you can’t price match other stores.
