The Telstra Gateway Pro is being billed as the world’s first gateway using Broadcom’s 4 x 4 Wi-Fi AC chipset. It purports to provide “world class” Wi-Fi to connected offices that’s up to six times faster than Telstra’s existing business gateway. Here are the specs.
The Telstra Gateway Pro is aimed at businesses that require reliable high-speed Wi-Fi coverage. It can connect to the Internet using ADSL, VDSL and NBN Fibre to the Premises (FTTP). Designed in partnership with Netgear and Broadcom, it comes with a range of improvements over Telstra’s Premium Gateway, including dual band connectivity on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, next-generation Wave 2 Wi-Fi 11 AC technology and MU-MIMO capability with 4×4 antennas, plus a dual-core 1GHz processor for improved multitasking.
According to Telstra, it will allow offices to connect more compatible devices at top speeds. This is thanks to the gateway’s two separate Wi-Fi bands which allows users to spread compatible devices across both bands for improved network coverage. Streaming video and downloading large files simultaneously will not slow down the network. It also has an improved coverage footprint, meaning you can stay connected in every nook and cranny of the office.
The gateway is compatible with Telstra’s IP Phones, which allows Digital Office Technology customers to make digital calls over the Fixed Broadband service. There’s also a mobile broadband USB back up feature to ensure against service interruptions.
Here are the technical specifications:
- VDSL2+/VDSL/ADSL2+/ADSL compliant DSL interface
- IPoE, PPPoE, Mobile Broadband (for WAN failover)
