You keep listing “free software” from Windows Rewards, then putting a disclaimer that it’s untested. Surely some people would have red lights flashing in the back of their mind about “free software” being advertised, seems a little too good to be true, add to the fact you haven’t even tested it to see what the catch is (there’s always a catch), it seems quite irresponsible, especially with the current prevalence of ransomware and alike. Surely it would be better to err on the side of caution and not recommend untested “free” software?
They aren’t recommending anything though, they are just putting it out there.
I mean… is it ethical to recommend the Maccas deal when the nation as a whole is so obese?
It’s not unethical to recommend a maccas deal, it’s perfectly healthy for some people. But untested software from a too good to be true source, that’s just dangerous.
They obviously pay Allure media to advertise.
Starting to think that as well… I’ve raised this a couple of time now, and heard nothing but radio silence from the mods here.
Hi guys. Any advertorials or sponsored content on Lifehacker is ALWAYS clearly labeled as such. The same goes for our sister sites Kotaku and Gizmodo. Cheers.
