Two things we love: Movies and free online courses. edX has combined the two in this roundup of courses that touch upon the subjects of 2016’s Oscar-nominated movies.
For The Martian, for example, learn how space travel works with the Space Rocket Exploration and Human Spaceflight courses. For Straight Outta Compton, consider Berklee’s Introduction to the Music Industry and MIT’s Creativity & Entrepreneurship. For The Revenant, edX suggests Becoming a Resilient Person.
While these courses won’t help you catch up on the Oscar nominees themselves, they’re interesting in their own right and could maybe add more depth to Oscar-night viewing.
