Make Handling Tiny Digital Cameras Easier With This DIY Camera Grip

Video: There are some really nice cameras out there that are incredibly small, and that can be frustrating if you have big hands. This DIY camera grip makes shooting a tiny camera feel more like shooting a chunky DSLR, and acts as a stand so you can set your camera anywhere without any fear of damaging it.

This custom setup from youtuber thefrugalfilmmaker, known as the “Frugal Fattener 2”, uses a few bracket pieces, some camera quick release systems, and a foam handle to create a useful camera grip. It allows for better control while shooting with your small camera, and it even has room to easily remove the battery and SD card without having to completely remove the camera. A Sony NEX 5n is used as a demonstration in the video, but it’s not the only camera this grip would work well with. In fact, you can use this grip with almost any type of camera on a tripod mount.
