You know that moment when fruit crosses over from perfectly ripe to just a little busted? It’s not technically bad, but it’s no longer enticing. Instead of chucking it in the compost, puree and freeze it into tasty little cubes!

You can do this with pretty much any fruit, just make sure to remove any pits or questionable looking spots first. You can even leave the peel on if you like. Once it’s prepped, run it through the blender or food processor, pour into an ice tray and freeze. You can use these convenient cubes of fruity goodness as a smoothie starter, in sauces (both sweet and savoury), or as a way to chill fruity cocktails. You can even combine flavours (like strawberry-mango!) or throw some herbs in there if you want to get gourmet.
