Clever Ways To Transform Cup Noodles Into Actual Food

Clever Ways To Transform Cup Noodles Into Actual Food

Cup noodles are pretty much last-resort or office food for most of us, but just because they’re all you have doesn’t mean they have to be disgusting. The fine Brothers Green Eats has a few methods to upgrade those waterlogged, microwaved noodles, provided you have a few extra ingredients handy.

Some of these transformations definitely require a well-stocked pantry, and leave you pretty much only using the cup noodles for, well, the noodles. However others use ingredients you may already have at home, or even some sauce packets you may have kicking around in the office cupboard (although definitely not the herbs and jalapeños or other fresh ingredients). No matter what though, all of them involve stuffing the noodle cup with a whole bunch of tasty things, adding hot water and letting it cook through.

In about seven minutes, you’ll see how to take simple cup noodles and turn them into a beef “pho-like” type of noodle dish; a riff on a coconut curry using just coconut milk, water, and mushrooms; and a take on chicken tikka masala. There’s even a kimchi tofu noodle dish that starts in a cup, and a salmon miso ramen to make, if you have the right stuff. Click play above to check it all out, or watch it at YouTube below. Even if it’s clearly too much to make at the office on a whim, it might inspire you to upgrade some of your boring office lunches with whatever you might have on hand.
