Turn A Bunch Of Old Laptop LED Screens Into A False Window Light

If you like to work at night, or your room doesn’t have any windows that face the sun, it can be hard to come by any natural light. This light panel made from four laptop LED screens looks like a window and can give you the light you need.

There are a lot of cool ways to re-purpose an old laptop, but having a broken monitor narrows the list some. This project from the DIY Perks YouTube channel uses any old laptop LED monitors, and combines them into a very bright window light panel.

You’ll have to remove the screens from the laptop cases, get a few cheap electronic components, attach the screens together (he uses gaffer tape), and do some basic soldering. Once it’s complete, however, your false window will be putting out some seriously bright white light, and the diffusion layers will even give the panels a cool 3D depth effect. Now you can read, work, and relax as if you had a nice sun-facing window.
