Build A Laptop Table For Sitting At The Couch That Converts To A Standing Desk

Standing desks are all the rage, but sometimes you just want to chill on the couch while working on your laptop. Here’s a desk that you can build that accomplishes both.

Dual purpose furniture pieces save space, and if you can build one yourself, even better. The wheeled sitting/standing desk shown in the video above requires an intermediate to advanced woodworking skill set, but the instructions (linked below) are easy to follow. It’s helpful if you’ve got a table saw, bandsaw, and a few of the specialty tools like the mortise and tenon jig.

This desk was built using planed pallet wood, a recycled desk top, and some inline skate wheels. Check out the instructions below to see how to build it.
