Alloy Automates Tasks In Nearly Any App On iOS

iOS: Automation is surprisingly powerful on iOS with tools like Workflow, but if that’s not your thing, Alloy is a new app that takes on a lot of the same tasks as Workflow in a different style.

Like Workflow, Alloy is all about helping you create micro apps that run specific tasks, similar to something like Automator on OS X. So, you can create actions that allow you to do things like navigate to a specific location in Google Maps or post all your photos with a watermark on Facebook. You create these actions yourself with runtime workflows, then run those from inside Alloy.

Unlike Workflow, Alloy is pretty tough to use and a lot of the language is only for the most tech savvy amongst us. However, with that comes a little more power than Workflow, so you can fine-tune your actions even more. If you’ve tested out Workflow and felt it wasn’t powerful enough, Alloy’s worth a look.
