Make This Universal Spice Mix And Put It On Everything

Making your own spice blends saves you money and makes sure everything you cook is packed with flavour. If you’re looking for a blend to get you started, this one from Chef Tim Love is great on anything — even ice cream.

We’re not kidding when we say this is good on anything. It works on dishes sweet and savoury, as you can see in the video above. Here’s the recipe:

1/4 cup kosher salt

1/4 cup freshly ground pepper

1/4 cup pure chile powder, such as guajillo or ancho

2 tablespoons ground cumin

2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves

2 tablespoons fresh rosemary

Store this mix for up to six months in your fridge, if you don’t use it all before then (Seriously, it’s even good on vanilla ice cream!)
