Convert Bi-Fold Closet Doors Into Sliding Doors

Bi-fold closet doors are not only ugly, but impractical. Here’s how to replace them with sleek bypass closet doors in just a few hours.

Bi-fold doors take up space when open in small areas and although you get full access to a closet, they are unsightly when left open. It’s easy to remove those doors and replace them with sliding closet doors in just a couple hours.

You’ll need a circular saw and chop saw or hacksaw to trim the door and track, as well as a cordless drill/driver to attach the hardware. A good sliding door will cost about $400 and should include everything needed to install. Check out the video above from The Samurai Carpenter to see how it’s done. The volume is a little low, so you might have to turn it up.
