Microsoft has added advanced features to the free version of Office 365 Education aimed at simplifying the security and compliance processes for academic institutes. The basic version is free for students and teachers. Here’s what’s new.
In addition to access to Office Online, 1TB of OneDrive storage, Exchange email and Skype, free Office 365 now includes the following:
- Legal hold and eDiscovery
This capability lets you preserve and analyse content for legal request or investigation and is applied to email, documents and instant messaging. - Rights Management Services
Prevents file-level access documents without the right user credentials. - Data Loss Prevention
Help protect against loss of sensitive information.
These new features will be available automatically to Office 365 Education users. Schools can register to provide Office 365 Education for free to students and teachers over at the Office Education page.
