iOS 9 Jailbroken Before Public Release

Last week we reported that Apple released iOS 9’s final build to developers. It’s not available to the public until Wednesday but someone has already jailbroken it.

iH8snow is the person who has done an untethered jailbreak of iOS 9 and he has published a video of his fine work here:

While iH8snow doesn’t give instructions on how he did the jailbreaking nor is he intending to release the software to do so, the video proves that jailbreaking iOS 9 is possible at this stage and it’s now only a matter of time before someone releases tools to assist users in doing so. Users of jailbroken iOS 8 iPhones can rest easy knowing that they can soon upgrade to iOS 9 and continue to stick it to Apple by keeping their devices free from the hardware restrictions put in place by the company.

It’s worth noting that jailbreaking iPhones can make them more vulnerable to security breaches. Earlier this month, a new family of malware was found to be targetting jailbroken phones.
