Fine-Tune Your Woodworking Projects With A Chisel

A set of chisels should be in every woodworkers arsenal. The video above demonstrates how and why to use them.

Much like hand planes, chisels are used to remove wood when no other tool will suffice. The narrow shape and sharp edge are perfect for cutting recesses in wood for hinges or strike plates, cutting dadoes and grooves, and just shaving off small or large increments of wood.

Start with a set of three wood chisels to include a 13mm, 19mm and 25mm chisels. And remember that anytime you plan on using your chisel as a striking tool, wear your safety glasses.
