Build A Dash Cam With A Raspberry Pi, Two Cameras And GPS

Dash cams are a cool, easy way to record everything you see out your windshield, but they vary wildly in price and quality. If you want to really customise your own, you can make one with a Raspberry Pi.

As you’d expect, this setup has a few bells and whistles. It has two cameras, a forward facing one and a rear facing one. It also has GPS packed into it so the camera always knows where it’s recording. There’s also a button for shutting it down and rebooting when you need it along with status LEDs so you know what it’s up to. Sure, most of us probably don’t need all this, but it’s a fun project nonetheless.
